Performed and recorded for Copenhagen Jazz Festival at The Danish Royal Playhouse, Copenhagen.

Musical boundaries were shattered and senses sharpened when the Copenhagen resident Brazilian voice icon Marcela Lucatelli took over the stage during Copenhagen Jazz Festival 2023 with an extraordinary avant-garde jazz concert. With her were two prominent, award-winning musicians from the European jazz scene: German Jonas Engel on saxophone and electronics and Swiss Dominik Mahnig on drums. An elegant and raw sound tapestry in equal parts, where elements of jazz, experimental music and free improvisation were woven together for an engrossing and transformative experience, all the while Lucatelli explored the limits of her voice’s ability with good-sounding vocal harmonies, ominous breaths and crooked microtones.
